Isodraht strategically placed in one of Europe’s largest markets offers a wide range of top quality copper products; value added service and a dynamic, reliable customer relationship. Isodraht product range covers round and rectangular enamelled wire, covered copper wire and stranded conductors for electrical engineering, customized profiles mainly for commutator application and catenary wires for railway overhead lines. Drawn bare wires used in the cable industry and copper wires for welding of metal cans complete the supply programme.

Isodraht is a reliable partner for the entire electrical engineering industry and offers professional consultancy by our skilled engineers and a comprehensive service back-up, fast and flexible response and exchange of experiences in a constant dialog - in one word: an excellent partnership. This is proofed through several supplier awards by customers. Isodraht received now several times Bosch’s supplier award for excellent product quality and service for the supply of enamelled wire and in 2008 Kolektor Group awarded Isodraht for best performance 2006/2007 for the supply of commutator profiles.

As a strong partner for the automotive industry quality management system according TS 16949 and highest environmental protection standards goes for us without saying. Isodraht belongs to the Swedish Liljedahl Group, a strong global partner with 200,000 tons of copper wire production every year. The group is the second biggest producer of enamelled wire in Europe and is concentrated on the production of wire rod, winding wires, copper profiles and catenary wires for railway application.

THE COMPANY HISTORY

Even though we operate under a different name nowadays, we were involved "right from the very beginning". When electricity began to be generated, distributed and used on a large scale, that was when Isolation AG, Insulated Wire Factory, was founded in Mannheim, Germany, back in 1899. The young company first made a name for itself as a supplier of insulated wires. In 1970’s the company was part of the new founded Kabel und Draht group under Brown Boveri & CIEs’ ownership. BBC built the first power station in Mannheim, Germany.

As there was a huge demand for insulated wire for large size machinery in power stations and for electric drives in industrial facilities, Kabel und Draht group was strongly prospering during the 1980’s.

The company was registered as ABB Isodraht GmbH in 1991, as part of the ABB Kabel und Draht Group. In 1997 we became part of the EKS Group. The shareholder of our group was first Industri Kapital in Sweden, a private equity investment company. Since May 2007 we belong to the also Swedish Liljedahl Group and are now Isodraht GmbH. For better strategic adjustment Isodraht established in 2000 two business units:

WINDING WIRE DIVISION
Round and rectangular enamelled wire ; Customized stranded conductors and covered wires.

BARE WIRE DIVISION
Catenary wires; Copper profiles; Drawn and High Performance Welding Wire.

The Bare Wire and Profile division of the group founded the Chinese EKS Isodraht Profiles (Taicang) in 2006, which is specialized on copper profiles for commutator application.
